2014 Annual NorCal CarciNET / UCSF Patient Education Day:

Registration is now open for our 3rd annual patient education conference on Sunday, January 19, 2014.  

Please register by Monday, January 13th, so that we can have an accurate count for food and room setup.  

The conference will feature experts from our local medical community as well as invited speakers from major NETs centers in the US and Europe. The tentative agenda is now available by clicking here.

Confirmed Speakers:

Dr. Thomas O'Dorisio, Professor of Internal Medicine  - Endocrinology and Metabolism, University of Iowa. University of Iowa has over 1,300 NET patient visits annually in their six weekly clinics.

Dr. Dieter Hörsch, Director of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology and Endocrinology, ZentralKlinik Bad Berka. ZentralKlinik Bad Berka is an ENETS Center of Excellence with over 1,200 NET patient visits a year. In 2013 this ENETS Center of Excellence will have preformed over 800 Ga68 PET/CT scans and 500 PRRT treatments. 

Added Event: On Saturday, January 18, 2014, Dr. Wang from Ochsner Center in New Orleans will be giving a breakfast presentation on Novel Surgical Techniques for NETs. Saturday's breakfast meeting with Dr. Wang will be held at NextSpace adjacent to the Berkeley BART Station. Space is limited, so please register early.

New Conference Location:

The 2014 conference will be held at Krutch Theatre on the Clark Kerr Campus of UC Berkeley. There is ample free street parking near the conference center. In addition, there is a $10 paid parking lot next to the conference center. For those taking public transportation, we will be offering a shuttle service from the Berkeley BART station on Sunday.

Conference Hotel: There are just a few rooms left at the Hotel Bancroft in Berkeley for $129 a night. You must call the hotel directly at 510-549-1000 and mention NorCal CarciNet to receive this rate.
