Update: On March 24th, 2013 Todd finished the race in 3:58:26 - 17 seconds off his target goal - he more than made up for it by raising over $3,000 - 3x his target fund raising goal. Thank you Todd and all of his supporters.  Those shirts sure look good next to the Raider's silver and black.

Todd at the finish
My name is Todd Lloyd,

tllyodLast year I conquered a life goal of running my first marathon.  During the training and the race itself, I learned lot about myself and the challenging process along the way.  This year, I'm running my second marathon on March 24, 2013 at the Oakland running festival here in Oakland, CA.

I also learned last year that a dear friend of mine is battling a rare form of cancer called Carcinoid. Carcinoid is Neuroendocrine Cancer and is one of the rarer forms of cancer. Due to its rarity, there are very limited resources for treatment, help and support while battling this illness.  My friend has shown amazing amounts of strength, courage and resilience while undergoing monthly chemo therapy, daily migraine headaches and significant discomfort.

Inspired by this, I am dedicating this marathon effort to the NorCal CarciNet Support Group and asking you to make a donation to this organization.  They are a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, based in Hayward, CA, who provides help and support for those battling Carcinoid.  My running goal is to set a new personal record of 3 hours 57 minutes or faster.

My fundraising goal is to raise $1,000 or more.  The contribution link is below and all the money (minus a 2.5% transaction fee) goes directly to the organization.

With your help, we can help many conquer Carcinoid!  Thank you for your support!
